The House of Poças, in the Douro Valley of Portugal, make wines that other estates would love to make. This 2018 vintage wine is richly decadent, full and with lovely tannin structure. Port wine issued from a lot of high quality in a single year, matured in oak vats and bottled typically in around the 5th year after the harvest.
It is known for being a rich and fruity wine, with notes of ripe red and black fruits, chocolate, and spice, as well as having a balanced, elegant, and full-bodied character with pronounced tannins. This LBV is ready to drink now, but also has the potential to age for several more years.
Ripe red and black fruits, jam, light balsamic notes, and light cocoa on the palate with a velvety texture, pronounced tannins and a balanced, elegant, and rich mouthfeel.
Excellent with game, red meats, chocolate desserts (like chocolate gâteau or mousse), and soft ripe cheeses such as brie or camembert.
