It may be summer but we’re already thinking about Christmas
While most people are making the most of the sunshine, we’re already looking ahead to Christmas. Planning for the festive season starts surprisingly early, especially when you’re determined to source products from small artisan producers rather than simply filling shelves with the same brands you’ll find everywhere else. For us, it’s one of the most enjoyable parts of the year.
“Christmas is all about discovering those products that make people stop and say, ‘Where did you find this?’ That’s what we love doing,” says Nick.
As always, many of your festive favourites will be returning. There will be the wonderfully indulgent Loison panettone, the beautifully crafted CoCoChemistry chocolates, and a carefully chosen selection of fine wines from small Mediterranean vineyards that deserve a place on any Christmas table.
But there will also be plenty of new discoveries.
“We’re constantly tasting, trying and comparing products,” says Jane. “If we wouldn’t be excited to take it home ourselves, it doesn’t make it onto the shelves. We want every product, gift or to feel like something genuinely special.”
Supporting independent producers remains at the heart of everything Gastro Nicks does. By working with smaller suppliers, the deli can offer distinctive food and drink that you simply won’t find in most supermarkets, often representing exceptional value for the quality.
So, while Christmas may still feel a long way off, the planning is well underway.
